Photo tips for a lovely print

- Lay the hand flat, fingers slightly apart
- Use a plain, light background, such as paper or a white sheet
- Use good, even light with no harsh shadows
- Remove rings if you can
- Get the whole hand, up to the wrist, in the photo
- Baby lies on their tummy on a plain blanket
- Gently hold the lower leg up so the sole faces up
- Use a plain, light surface or sheet
- Good, even light, no harsh shadows
- Take the photo straight down at the sole
- Whole foot in frame, heel to toes, toes relaxed, socks off
- Plain white paper, no lines or squares
- Dark pen is best, but colours are fine: felt tips and crayons work, and we turn every colour into one clean line
- Thick, clear lines, pressed firmly, no faint pencil
- Paper flat on a table, no creases
- Even light, no shadows across the page
- Photo taken straight down
